A fine French rustic hall table or console server of patinated oak, from the 19th century, featuring a rectangular plank top, set upon a frieze with two drawers, each drawer with circular brass knob pull, over an H-form stretcher base with square, hand-carved chamfered legs, with decorative block accents at the joints, and stabilized by traditional peg joinery.

Hall tables were traditionally used in a dining area as a sideboard, buffet, or entryway console table.
