A fine Italian occasional or cocktail side table from the Modern era, featuring a circular glass top fixed to a sculptural brass faux bois or tree-form base.
Gnarled roots at the round bottom give rise to a single tree trunk pedestal - topped by four "cut" branches and four sprigs of leaves. The glass top is thick and secured by a screw cap in the center.
The sculptural, organic design mimicking a tree trunk with branching olive or bamboo leaves shows the influence of popular Mid-Century luxury designs in the Maison Jansen style.
