Featuring a moulded surround with a beautiful patinated gold-leaf - the wider scale frame has an outer gilded edge upon a red bole base coat - the outer edge of the frame with a decorative band of natural polished cream gesso creating a gentle contrast with the gold leaf.

The wide inner border showing a finely etched Greek key design to the top, bottom and sides.

Polished painted gesso beaded pearls surround the original period glass plate - the mirrored reflection with only minor historical foxing consistent with age.
