Based in Brewer Street London, Drakes supplied hotel and restaurant silver-plate furnishings to hotels, namely 'The Ritz London', as well as serving pieces for domestic and foreign markets up until the 1980's.
Founded just before the mid-20th century by Harry Drake, and later taken over by Harry's son Donald, Drakes Silversmiths started designing and building ‘Drakes Carving Trolleys.’
With a focus on materials such as silver-plate and wood, they soon received popularity in the 1940's.
The family firm flourished during the mid-century due to their expert craftsmanship of bespoke chromed trolleys.
