A fine French bamboo hanging fixture from the mid-20th century, featuring four lights, each light with brass bobeche and optional shade, on a stylish bamboo and rattan support, attributed to the famed French designer, Louis Sognot.

Attributed to Louis Sognot (1892 - 1969), the famed French designer who collaborated with the Atelier Primavera (founded in 1912 by the department store, Printemps, whose mission was to conceive and craft modern furniture and objects). A member of the UAM from 1930, he designed functional and elegant pieces using innovative materials, especially rattan. A professor at l'Ecole Boulle and l'ENSAAD, he inspired many post-war designers and contributed to the 1950s emblematic aesthetic.
