A fine French Empire day bed or window seat from the late 19th century featuring an elegant frame of patinated walnut often associated with the Louis Philippe or Empire style, recently upholstered in a luxurious grey linen fabric.

The distinct scroll ends and splayed feet add much to the design along with the decorative moulding around the circumference of the frame - with double piping detailing on the new upholstery.

Note: the foot side is lower than the head side.
