A fine period George III serpentine-front chest of drawers of figured mahogany and satinwood - a hallmark of 18th-century English furniture design.
Crafted in the Georgian period, circa 1780s, the chest embodies the elegance and refined craftsmanship characteristic of the era, featuring a moulded and inlaid top over a frieze of four drawers, graduating in size from smaller at the top to larger at the bottom, brass hardware, and resting on shaped bracket feet.
The whole embellished with satinwood cross-banding and boxwood stringing.
The top drawer opening to a felt lined slide, the slide opening to fitted compartments and a vanity mirror with hinged back that can be propped up for regular use.
