A rare and beautiful pair of Meiji era dressing or full length floor mirrors with lacquered frames from the Empire of Japan, circa 1900 - each mirror featuring a moulded surround with a beautiful patinated gold-leaf and a cinnabar colored lacquer relief of Japanese empire symbols - chrysanthemums, and the crests (or mon) of the Tokugawa and Toyotomi clans - in between a contrasting border line of black lacquer around the circumference.
