A fine vintage Rolls-Royce radiator grille-shaped novelty whiskey decanter or flask with a working music box from the Hollywood Regency period - a sought-after decorative collectible barware item.
The decanter features a chrome-plated grille, side lamps, and "Spirit of Ecstasy" hood ornament functioning as a double cork stopper for dispensing a single shot measure - and includes a wind-up music box mechanism in the base, which plays the tune "How Dry I Am" when the decanter is lifted.
Purchased in England, most examples were manufactured in Japan during the 1960s.
The “Silver Sprit of Ecstasy” mascot originally designed by Charles Sykes for the Rolls Royce Silver Spirit.
